Girl Birthday # 8: Sweet and Simple

Julia's birthday couldn't have been easier and maybe that is why I am so delinquent in sharing anything about it! She was fully celebrated the entire weekend complete with an exciting surprise to top it off.

As her party, she could choose one friend to go with her for lunch to the American Girl Boutique and Bistro at the Galleria in Dallas and then that friend could spend the night. Atlee became her guest and her Mom, Nikki, became mine- except she didn't spend the night!

Because of their excitement, Julia and Atlee hardly took two bites of their food. Nikki and I left the Bistro with doggie bags full of supper. And evidently, excitement and maybe, lack of food renders ineffective any ability to make a decision. These two girls shopped for their one item, and shopped, and shopped and shopped. Once their choices had been made, we found out both items were on backorder. After excruciatingly hard SECOND choices were made, we made it out with all wits intact and smiles on our faces.

They practically disappeared once they got to my house. Their empty tummies drew them down to eat dinner and the promise of letting them do each other's make up kept them down in my bathroom a little longer.

Realizing later it wasn't a smart move, I went to bed leaving them in the den playing Uno with Brighton. Who knows? Tired, maybe? Well, about 2:15, we awakened to a loud noise above us (the playroom). Jeff went up to check it out. I still chose my bed. About 10 minutes later, he came back in the room and said all three of them were playing like it was 2 in the afternoon. No one argued when he told them it was bedtime. Needless to say, we all got to sleep in Saturday morning.

One fun addition to her birthday, besides her brother making the 911 call and having Remey and Kollin over for dinner, she and Brighton were asked to do something VERY special.

They will be the flower girl and ring bearer in Remey and Kollin's wedding this summer in Mississippi. (Kollin, note the spelling.)

Thanks for blessing them with the honor, you two. We can't wait!
